2015 Awards
9th December 2015, London
The 2015 3rd Sector Care Awards returned once again to central London, delighted to welcome back Dame Esther Rantzen as host.
The event began with a fun but firm reminder of the people who are the heart of the work being carried out by the nominees on a day-to-day basis. Service users Certitude Community Choir opened the event with an uplifting rendition of ‘Don’t Worry’ amongst other songs, bringing hope and positivity to the room and those working within a challenging sector. According to Steve Scown, CEO of one nominee Dimensions, the inclusion of service users themselves throughout the awards was ‘so important, to keep in mind who we serve.’
It was then time for Dame Esther to take to the stage and turn the spotlight on each winner and why they deserved such recognition of their work.
The excitement and spirit of the day had most people turning to their phones to share their achievements and celebrate successes on social media. This culminated in the Awards’ hashtag #3rdSectorCareAwards trending on Twitter. This achievement meant that the fantastic work of the sector had the opportunity to receive increased recognition and spread goodwill well beyond the event’s attendees.
After such a successful event, the 3rd Sector Care Awards left everyone feeling energised, empowered and motivated to keep pushing the boundaries of best practice. The awards will return in 2016, ready to celebrate the transformative powers of great social care once again.
