Applications have opened for the next cohort of the National Care Forum (NCF) Rising Stars programme.
The NCF Rising Star Programme provides an opportunity for shining lights in NCF member organisations to develop leadership skills through a year-long programme of mentoring and activities.
The focus of the programme is on leadership and supporting new managers in their roles. Ten places are available and are open to managers and registered managers in social care and support. They must be working in NCF member organisations and be able to commit to a series of opportunities to ensure the programme is put to best use.
This year, Rising Stars have taken advantage of trips to the House of Lords, tickets to sector events, media training and workshops.
Organisations putting forward a manager for consideration must also commit to providing a mentor for the programme, who agrees to support a Rising Star throughout the year's programme and attend some of the activities.
Successful candidates will be given a free place to attend the NCF Annual Conference and all accepted Rising Stars and Mentors must be able to commit to attending the NCF UK Care Conference where they will meet each other and learn more about the programme.
Interviews with previous NCF Rising Stars, detailing how they came to be a part of the programme and the impact it has had on their career and organisation can be found in the CMM archives, with the latest interview from Samantha Stuart from WCS Care.
The 2019 application form and full programme commitments can be found on the NCF website. Questions and completed applications should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by 1st April 2019.
