CMM joins Care Workers Charity supporters club

June 23, 2017

CMM and its parent company, Care Choices are delighted to announce that they have joined the Supporters Club of the Care Workers Charity.

The Care Workers Charity supports the basic welfare of current, former and retired care workers. The Charity offers a rainy-day fund for care workers in the UK who look after some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Early starts, long hours, mentally draining work are all part of the job for hard-working care staff. However, if they experience an injury, illness or other unforeseen circumstance it can push them beyond their financial limits.

This is why The Care Workers Charity works hard to support care workers in their time of need. They care for those who care.

CMM and Care Choices are honoured to be part of the charity’s growing supporters club to help raise awareness of the work it does. Lisa Werthmann, Director of Creative Operations at Care Choices explained, ‘The Care Workers Charity is a fantastic organisation that helps to make a real difference to the care workforce. We are delighted to join the Supporters Club and offer assistance to help raise awareness of the work they do and ensure more people know they can call on The Care Workers Charity in their time of need.’

Alex Ramamurthy, Chief Executive of The Care Workers Charity said, ‘Every day across the country, an entire army of care workers look after our society’s most vulnerable individuals, delivering vital public services in challenging conditions, often for little reward. Care workers spend their careers looking after others, but when circumstances change, sometimes it’s the care workers who need some help…and that’s where the Care Workers Charity steps in. We deliver hardship grants to care workers who find themselves in crisis.

‘The Supporters Club was established in 2017 to get closer to the staff that we support, and provide the Charity with a sustainable income stream for grant giving. It’s great to have Care Choices on board.’

The Care Workers Charity was set up in 2009 as the Care Professional Benevolent Fund, it relaunched in 2013 as a ‘Rainy Day Fund’ for everyday heroes. Its roll of honour lists all of its supporters, from care providers to suppliers, consultants and associations. It includes Carter Schwartz which held its first Carter Schwartz Cycle Challenge in May, raising £11,000 for the Charity.

Care Choices is a leading care sector multimedia publisher and event producer. CMM sits within its portfolio of publications, websites and events for senior executives in care and support, care seekers and their close relatives, families of children with additional needs and the practitioners who work with them.
