MCA & DoLS: The compliance gaps inspectors will notice
Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) compliance is a critical responsibility for care providers. But gaps in understanding, documentation and day-to-day practice can leave your service exposed to regulatory scrutiny and poor outcomes.
For owners and senior leaders, the challenge is knowing whether MCA principles are being applied consistently across your service and whether your records, processes and frontline practice provide the evidence inspectors expect.
Join WorkNest's care compliance experts Julie Walton, Head of Health and Social Care Compliance and Natasha Heasman, Policies Manager, for a practical webinar exploring the common MCA and DoLS compliance gaps found in care services, what inspectors and auditors are looking for and the steps you can take to reduce risk and strengthen compliance.
What we'll cover:
- Why getting MCA and DoLS right matters - Understand the practical and regulatory risks of non-compliance, and how stronger oversight can help protect the people you support, your service, and its reputation.
- Common mistakes found in care services - Explore recurring gaps in assessments, decision-making, record-keeping and frontline practice and learn how to identify potential weaknesses before they become more serious.
- What inspectors are looking for - Understand where inspectors may focus their attention and consider whether your current approach evidence, processes and governance would stand up to scrutiny.
- How to turn compliance gaps into confident practice - Learn how expert support can strengthen policies, care planning, governance and wider regulatory compliance.
Whether you operate a single service or oversee multiple locations, you’ll leave with practical insights to help you assess your current approach, prioritise improvements and gain greater assurance that MCA and DoLS requirements are being followed consistently.
