What does the Autumn budget mean for care and support providers?

Liz Jones is the Policy Director of the National Care Forum and has a strong background in social policy, care and support and health and housing, with over 20 years’ experience across the civil service, local government and the charity sector.

Cyril has been a mixed methods researcher on the Nuffield Trust’s social care team since 2022. His areas of research include the care workforce, provider market, and international learning. Cyril has led on analysis of the impact of the government’s last two budgets on social care, estimating the costs of the new Employer’s National Insurance regime and increases to the National Living Wage.

Laura joined MHA in 2015 and has been working on adult social care policy and developing MHA’ public affairs voice ever since. Before joining MHA, Laura worked for the Big Lottery Fund supporting the not-for-profit sector, and in local government policy at Nottingham City Council, specialising in adult social care, including the Care Act.

Richard has been the Chief Financial Officer at Mencap since 2021 where he also has executive responsibility for a range of support functions such as Technology, Data, Property and Strategic Delivery.  Before joining Mencap, Richard worked in a series of senior finance roles in public and third sector organisations including Peabody and Essex County Council.   Richard serves as Treasurer Trustee for the National Brain Appeal, and was appointed as a Board Member at Habinteg Housing Association in July 2025.
