Applications for Skills for Care's Workforce Development Innovation Fund are now open. The fund supports employers who are looking to change the way they offer their services.
The Workforce Development Innovation Fund is specifically designed to support innovative projects that look to increase the skills and knowledge of workers. Projects should be aiming to develop new ways of offering services that will improve the quality of care that is provided to those who need care and support.
Andy Tilden, Interim Chief Executive at Skills for Care says, 'Adult social care is an ever-changing landscape and, as our population gets older and lives longer, different needs are emerging almost daily. That means the way services work will need to change too, so this fund can really help in developing new and innovative ways of working collaboratively by developing the skills and knowledge of the workforce.'
Projects funded by the 2019-20 Workforce Development Innovation Fund must meet one of the four priorities:
- Priority 1: To test an approach to develop capacity for Registered Nurses to support and supervise pre-registration nursing associates and return to practice nurses, within an ethical and safe learning culture.
- Priority 2: Enhance the impact of your registered manager network.
- Priority 3: Developing future registered managers, supporting deputies and aspiring managers to progress.
- Priority 4: Improve the working practices between social care and health workforces in support of integrated working.
