He established Skills for Progress’s parent company, The Root Of It, in 2013 to help people get to the root of difficulties holding them back and learn how to overcome them. Since then, Richard has led Skills for Progress’s multi-award-winning team to support multiple Governmental department projects, including the response to the Kids Company closure and the Syrian refugee crisis.
Richard has sat on All Party Parliamentary Groups, Greater London steering groups and is a member of the European Alliance for Apprenticeships. Richard is also the Chair of both the Mental Health Awards and the National Special Educational Needs and Disability Awards.

Skills for Progress is leading a national programme for adult social care learning, offering fully funded courses through the LDSS. It provides specialist mental health training which specifically helps non-regulated adult care staff to support mental health and wellbeing at their provision, while gaining an accredited qualification.
