Social care and Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships

The Care Provider Alliance is running a survey on social care and Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs). It is calling on adult social care providers, from small local services to large national organisations, to share their experiences of and views about engagement with STPs.

STPs bring together health and care services in a particular area. Their aim is to improve health and care in practical ways through local collaboration. The Care Provider Alliance fully supports this aim. However, it believes that it will only be achieved if there is full engagement between STPs and adult social care providers. This short survey has been designed to find out how much engagement there has been so far, and to enable the views of adult social care providers to inform policy development in this critical area.

Responses are anonymous and will be analysed and collated by independent consultants working on behalf of the Care Provider Alliance. Details will be reported to the 11 national associations that make up the Care Provider Alliance, and a summary will be published later in the year. The Care Provider Alliance will not publish comments in a way that could lead to the person or organisation who made them being identified.

Some STPs have evolved to become Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), which have more freedom to manage money and make other decisions locally. To keep things simple, the survey incorporates both, when it says STPs it includes ICSs as well – and also the devolution sites of Greater Manchester and Surrey. The deadline for completion of the survey is 17.30 on Friday 1st June 2018.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to make attributable comments, please contact the Care Provider Alliance.

CMM has a number of STP articles and news stories for readers wanting to know more about best practice, how to get involved and progress so far.
