How the adult social care sector is helping shape the new direction for regulation

July 30, 2025

In the second of a two-part series of discussions around the single assessment framework (SAF) and providers’ response to it, Liz Jones, Policy Director at the National Care Forum (NCF) talks with David James, Deputy Director of Policy and Strategy at the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The discussion will assess the progress of implementation of the recommendations from the Care Provider Alliance (CPA) report into the SAF ahead of wider consultation later in the year. We will also hear reflections from the CQC about what it has learned from the recent provider roadshows.
