Frequently Asked Questions
Useful information about the 3rd Sector Care Awards
How do I know I’m eligible to enter?
Are you a charitable, not-for-profit organisation? This can be a CIC, social enterprise, community group or any organisation which exists to serve a public benefit or common interest whilst reinvesting any surplus funds back into the organisation.
Can the organisation/project/person be nominated in multiple categories?
Absolutely, you can nominate in as many categories as is appropriate. Just ensure that the questions are answered with as much detail as possible to demonstrate how the nominee meets the particular criteria for each category entered.
Is there a word count for each answer?
There isn’t, however, be mindful that whilst we would like your answers to be as detailed as possible, they should also be concise as the main reasons for your entry and how you meet the criteria should be the focus.
What happens once I’ve submitted my nomination.
Once the closing date for nominations passes all eligible entries will be passed on to one of our judges for shortlisting. Three finalists will be selected for each category, and they will be invited, via email, to attend stage 2 of the judging process, the online interviews. Please check the key dates on our website which will tell you when the judging day takes place as you MUST be available to attend these to continue in the process.
When are the winners announced?
The winners are announced at the awards ceremony. Each finalist is gifted two complimentary tickets to attend, and any additional tickets can be purchased via the website.
What are the timings for the ceremony?
The ceremony takes place during the day to allow our finalists and guests to travel to and from the event on the same day. We hope this reduces the need for overnight stays and therefore keeps cost to a minimum to allow as many people to attend as possible. For exact timings please check our website but it is usual that the event doors open at 10:45am with the awards taking place from 11.30, followed by a 3-course lunch. The ceremony usually wraps up by 3.30pm (timings subject to change).
